Landscape bricks have a decorative function and are widely used in our daily lives. Since aesthetics are their main feature, more attention should be paid to construction techniques when laying them. For example, large or small gaps may appear during laying. If they cannot be handled well, they will directly affect their use. So, how should we deal with them?
1、 Leave a 10mm wide joint every 3 × 6 meters, and during laying, leave a millimeter strip between the joints. After laying, take out the millimeter strip and fill the joint with 1:1 cement mortar to ensure uniform width of the mortar joint. This can ensure that the gap between landscape tiles is 2mm, and the basic requirement is that the gap is horizontal and vertical.
2、 After laying a cell, sprinkle a small amount of water on the surface layer to make the bricks wet and almost saturated. After about 15 minutes, use a clapper and wooden hammer to smash them in order, move the clapper while leveling, and adjust the gaps in the order of vertical and horizontal after flattening. Adjust the gaps to be smooth and uniform, and then flatten the adjusted tiles again.
3、 After the completion of the jointing and grouting work, the joint opening should be cleaned and moistened with water. A 1:1 cement mortar should be used to fill the joint with a width of 10mm. The remaining joints should be filled with a smaller width of 2mm, so a 1:3 lime mortar filling method should be used.
4、 For unsuitable areas, use a scraper to handle them one by one. The joints of the landscape bricks that have been laid should have a uniform and neat width, and the brick surface layer should be dense, flat, and smooth.
The above introduces the specific methods for handling the gaps in landscape bricks. If you encounter such situations in your daily life, you can refer to the methods in this article for handling. I hope the above content can be helpful to you.
