How to color fired bricks
The fired bricks we see on the market come in a variety of colors, and it is precisely these different colors that make them more aesthetically pleasing to use. This is because they have undergone coloring treatment.Let's take a detailed look at how they are colored.
1.Conventional coloring method:Generally, after firing in an oxidizing atmosphere, red colors of varying shades will appear. For example, adding other colored mineral materials to the raw materials can change the overall color of the bricks, resulting in a better decorative effect. Most of the mineral raw materials added are industrial waste or low-priced materials.Adding lime powder to low iron clay to turn it into a yellow toned product is a whole coloring method.
2.Applying makeup clay method:Makeup clay is mainly composed of specific adhesives, fluxing agents, fillers, and coloring agents.Sometimes organic materials can be added as binders in the fired brick clay, which can effectively enhance the bonding ability between the clay and the surface layer of the body. The prepared cosmetic clay is added to the surface of the brick body by spray, pouring, dipping, etc. After roasting,a solid surface layer of specific color will be formed on the surface of the brick body.
3.Glazing method:It is to apply a special glaze material suitable for thermal expansion coefficient on the surface of the brick body, and form a specific colored glaze layer on the surface of the brick body by firing.
4.Surface dyeing method:Surface dyeing method refers to immersing a metal salt solution that can be colored by sintering bricks into the surface of the billet a few millimeters deep. After firing,a strong layer of specific color will be formed on the surface of the brick.Because the brick itself has a red color tone, this dyeing method has a limited range of colors and can only present some deep toned product surfaces, such as deep red, dark green, brown, and black. Moreover, this surface dyeing method also has certain usage conditions. The composition of the raw materials in the blank, the density and uniformity of the blank need to meet the conditions before this method can be used.
The above introduction is about the coloring method of fired bricks.Different coloring methods have different effects, resulting in a variety of colored bricks. When choosing, there are also many choices, and we can choose different colors according to our own needs to increase aesthetics.
